Aight. I've been through five challenges on the GLeagues ladder so far. Four were my challenges to others above me. One was a challenge From below. So far, each and every freakin one of these has been a forfeit. I'm not going to mention names here. One of the forfeiters was almost certainly an accident, because he's had eleven matches, and never forfetied a game. That happens. In fact, one of my matches was a forfeit loss for myself, but i had a damn good reason - there was a death in the family and I got so busy dealing with stuff that I forgot to accept a challenge that had been made to me. Notice that I didn't say "I didn't show up for a match". I forgot to accept. If I had already accepted the challenge, I might have missed it, but hey, it happens. But it's happened 4 TIMES to me from other players! Two things here really cheese me off. One, the fact that I have yet to play a match in the 1 v 1, and yet I hold 7th position. I'm the only one in the top 9 that hasn't played a match yet! The second is the sheer rudeness of it. Do you know that not one person has emailed me or posted on the game forum, or even our forum, that they were sorry they couldn't make it. "Oh, sorry dude, but x came up and caused y and sorry you had to sit on your arse for an hour doing nothing but waiting for the opposition to show..." No courtesy at all! And here I am sending emails, I'm on IRC, finding their AIM and IRQ addresses and trying to get in touch with them to see if we're going to play. Waiting, watching the clock tick and nothing. One guy even had the audacity to protest the forfeit! I was locked up for almost three days because of this yahoo, unable to challenge or be challenged. And why did he protest? Not because he had some emergency and really, really wanted to be there but couldn't! NO! Becuase he didn't know what time the match was or where it was to be!!! FOR GOD'S SAKE WAKE UP PEOPLE! The rules are posted on the forum. They are very clear. In fact, I think that's one of the best things about the league itself; although I may disagree with some of the rules, THEY ARE THERE, they are CLEAR and they are there FOR EVERYBODY! For Nimrod's sake, this guy picked the times! |

I won the protest, by the way, as I should have. [NoZ]13 is doing a great job moderating the league, and I understand NapalmDawn is helping him now, which is a good thing too, I bet. Okay. I'm just a little peeved. I'll get over it. Thanks for letting me vent here.
Just a brief word before we hit coverage of the two ladders. Recently, our most magnanimously regal +RazorsEdge+ and our brilliantly illustrious +J0k3r+ (gagging now - sorry for that - couldn't help it) played a match in the 2 v 2 ladder. Now, I'm not covering that ladder yet, but I need to relate some crap that went on becuase it's one of my pet peeves. They played a duo that callled themselves the HsB Kings. These guys were pure ass. They couldn't play worth a damn and they whined the whole time. I was on BC while they played and couldn't believe some of the crap I was hearing J0k3r and Raz repeating. Then, halfway through the second game, I couldn't believe my ears - the little weenies actually left the game! You know, I get riled up when I get my ass kicked. We all do. But for Achille's sake, people, you DON'T EVER WHINE TO THE OTHER TEAM!!! You take your lumps, congratulate the other team on a good game, and get out before you say something stupid, if need be. The last thing you EVER do leave a match incomplete because you couldn't take it. These guys left the ladder. Their team no longer exists, as far as I know. Their nics, though, are DaRkMaN and Astral. Do me a favor. If you see them around, let them know you heard about their little ass-showing. Tell them that we don't like cry babies in RF. Maybe they'll get the hint and change. If not, maybe they'll get the hint and go play something else (like Barbie online, or something...). And now, the news... |

The first two teams on the ladder are becoming somewhat sedentary. +PLuS+ #1 and CSD have been sitting there for a week or two now with little to no action. Not that it's their fault - +PLuS+ #1 is still waiting for a challenge after HEL #2 (no longer on the ladder) forfeited their challenge. CSD has been sitting for awhile, I bet marshalling their forces, as they've had a hard time getting members to show to their matches and have played, at least the last one, short handed. +PLuS+ #1 remains untouched and perhaps a bit too daunting for most clans on the ladder. CSD, though, has just been challenged by .fa. I'm not sure how this one's gonna play out yet. We haven't seen much of .fa. yet as a clan. They have a forfeit loss, two forfeit wins and a match loss against JD. The fate of the second spot is in question and will be decided on March 16 at 12:00 PM. Good luck guys. We had an extraordinary match, it sounds like, between -DNR- and TC3 during the battle for third. To quote -DNR-Rot: "Great games, lost the first two, we were shittin bricks. Great games tho." Sounds like a comeback to beat all the odds. Congrats to -DNR- on the successful defense of the nmber three position. I was rooting for ya guys. And last but not least, my very own team mates and I from +PLuS+ #2 will be taking on JD On March 17th at 9:00 pm to settle the decision on the fourth spot. JD currently holds that position and +PLuS+ #2 is challenging from the 6th slot. JD is reputed to be a worthy and hard-fighting opponent. I wish them luck (of the bad sort!) and look forward to meeting them in the ring... |
In 1 v 1 play, I must congratulate our +Fn0rd+ for going up agianst J0k3r the giant and losing. I hate to say that the game was a foregone conclusion, but...Fn0rd, ya' know I love ya'like a brother, but must you go tilting at windmills like Don Quixote? Truth to tell, you're my hero - you got balls bigger than a melon (and certainly bigger than mine). Now you got me all freaked out 'cause i gotta play you in a week... In the meantime, #2 (+[Px]Immortal Bob+ and by the way, Bob didn't quite take J0k3r in their match, but it was a hard fought game...) and #4 (-DNR- Rot) are going head-to-head. Rot just couldn't stay down where the weather was a little warmer, no. He's gotta be all big and puffed up and challenge Bob. That's okay. Rot's a good guy. He's a damn fine player. But I think Bob's got him on this one. +PLuS+'s M!X3R is challenging up from spot 11 to try to take [NoZ]13's third spot. This will be a true battle of wills. The nuts are going flying on this one, folks, but I think they're gonna be M!X3D up by M!X3R... +504+ is going to defend 5th place from -DNR-Fek. Good luck to Fek, but I think +504+'s gonna pull your teeth, dude... |
